Administrator credential change via forged networkSetup request
Published Apr 12, 2026 · Updated Apr 12, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Heatmiser WiFi Thermostat 1.7 allows attackers to change administrator credentials via crafted requests. The networkSetup.htm handler processes attacker-supplied usnm, usps, and cfps values from a cross-origin POST without an effective CSRF defense. An authenticated administrator must be induced to submit the form, after which the selected username and password replace the device's administrative credentials.
