Local application crash via oversized password input
Published Mar 30, 2026 · Updated Mar 30, 2026
Denial of service in Navicat for Oracle 12.1.15 allows local users to crash the Windows application through its connection dialog. The Oracle connection dialog accepts a 550-character password and processes it on confirmation without rejecting the oversized value, terminating the process. The user must be able to run the GUI and paste the payload into a locally configured Oracle connection; the demonstrated consequence is an application crash.
