Unauthenticated code execution via MAIL FROM overflow
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in TABS MailCarrier 2.5.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted SMTP MAIL FROM command. The SMTP command handler accepts an oversized sender value and overwrites the saved EIP at offset 5,088, redirecting execution through attacker-controlled data. No authentication or user interaction is required; access to TCP port 25 is sufficient, and successful exploitation opens a bind shell on the Windows host.
