Local application crash via oversized registration input
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in WinMPG Video Convert 9.3.5 and earlier allows local users to crash the application through registration input. The registration dialog accepts a 6,000-byte string in the combined Name and Registration Code field without enforcing the destination buffer's bounds. The attacker must open the Register window, paste the payload, and submit it; the demonstrated consequence is an application crash only.
