CVE-2019-25566Public exploit

Application crash via oversized volume name

Published Mar 21, 2026 · Updated Mar 21, 2026

Buffer overflow in Acute Systems TransMac 12.3 allows local users to crash the application through an oversized volume name. The new disk-image workflow accepts a 1,000-character string in the volume name field without enforcing the field's expected bound. Exploitation requires local interactive access to paste the string and save the image; the demonstrated consequence is a TransMac process crash.
