Browser script execution via stored preference values

Stored XSS in Smoothwall Express 3.1-SP4-polar-x86_64-update9 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through preferences.cgi. The script stores HOSTNAME, KEYMAP, and OPENNESS POST values and later renders them without neutralizing embedded script markup. A network-reachable management interface and a subsequent visit to the preferences page are required, exposing that visitor's browser session to attacker-controlled code.
