Browser script execution via unescaped ipblock parameters
Published Feb 16, 2026 · Updated Feb 16, 2026
Reflected XSS in Smoothwall Express 3.1-SP4-polar-x86_64-update9 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in users' browsers. The ipblock.cgi handler places untrusted SRC_IP and COMMENT values from POST requests into its HTML response without neutralizing script markup. No authentication is required to submit the request, but execution requires a user to render the crafted response; the published impact is browser-context data access or modification, not service interruption.
