Browser script execution via unescaped traceroute host
Published Feb 15, 2026 · Updated Feb 15, 2026
Reflected XSS in OPNsense 19.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a user's browser through a crafted traceroute request. diag_traceroute.php reflects the POST host parameter into the response without sufficient validation or context-appropriate output escaping. Exploitation requires user interaction with a crafted request, and the resulting script runs in the security context of the affected browser session.
