Unauthenticated code execution via oversized POP3 username
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in TABS Laboratories MailCarrier 2.51 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through POP3. The POP3 USER command handler accepts a roughly 5 KB username without enforcing the destination stack-buffer boundary, allowing saved control flow to be overwritten. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted request to the listening POP3 service can run attacker-supplied code on the Windows host.
