Application crash via oversized license input
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Allok Soft Inc. WMV to AVI MPEG DVD WMV Converter 4.6.1217 allows local users to crash the application. The published proof of concept fills the combined License Name and License Code field with 6,000 A bytes; the vulnerable license-processing path does not safely bound that oversized input. Exploitation requires interactive access to the Windows GUI and clicking OK; the demonstrated consequence is a process crash, not code execution.
