Local code execution via oversized username copy
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in WEBGATE Control Center Pro 6.2.9 allows local users to execute code through an oversized username. The user creation module copies a username longer than 664 bytes into a fixed-size stack buffer, overwriting the SEH chain with attacker-controlled values. Exploitation requires local interaction with the user creation workflow on Windows and permits code execution in the application's security context.
