Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Feb 6, 2026 · Updated Feb 6, 2026
Unquoted service path in BlueStacks App Player 2.4.44.62.57 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. The BstHdLogRotatorSvc configuration passes an unquoted path containing spaces to Windows, allowing an earlier path component to be interpreted as an executable. A low-privileged local user who can write to a searched location can plant code that runs as LocalSystem when the automatic service starts.
