Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Feb 4, 2026 · Updated Feb 4, 2026
Unquoted service path handling in Wacom WTabletService 6.6.7-3 allows local users to execute code with elevated privileges. The WTabletServicePro service stores C:\Program Files\Tablet\Wacom\WTabletServicePro.exe as an unquoted ImagePath, so Windows can resolve a planted executable from an earlier space-delimited path segment. Exploitation requires local write access to a searched path, and code runs as LocalSystem only after the service restarts or the host reboots.
