Local privilege escalation via unquoted service path
Published Feb 4, 2026 · Updated Feb 4, 2026
Unquoted service path in GCafe+ Billing 3.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with LocalSystem privileges. gbClientService registers C:\Program Files\GBillingClient\gbClientService.exe as an unquoted automatic-start service path, causing Windows to search earlier path boundaries. A local user must place an executable at a writable earlier boundary and trigger or await service startup; that executable then runs as LocalSystem.
