Reflected XSS via unsanitized pluginInstall msg parameter
Published Jan 7, 2026 · Updated Jan 7, 2026
Reflected XSS in IWT Limited FaceSentry Access Control System 5.7.0, 5.7.2, and 6.4.8 allows remote attackers to run scripts in users' browsers. The pluginInstall.php handler places the unvalidated msg GET parameter into its response without neutralizing browser-executable markup. Exploitation requires an unsuspecting user to open the crafted URL; injected JavaScript then runs in the FaceSentry origin and can access session data or present phishing content.
