Authenticated command execution via mutable binary paths
Published Dec 24, 2025 · Updated Dec 24, 2025
OS command execution in LogicalDOC Enterprise 7.7.4 allows remote authenticated users to run commands through system settings. SettingService.saveSettings accepts attacker-selected values for command.convert, antivirus.command, ocr.Tesseract.path, and other executable paths without restricting them to trusted binaries. A low-privileged authenticated account can persist a chosen binary path; subsequent document conversion, OCR, or antivirus processing launches it with the server process privileges.
