Arbitrary code execution via DNS/IP field overflow
Published Jan 30, 2026 · Updated Jan 30, 2026
Buffer overflow in NetPCLinker 1.0.0.0 allows local users to execute shellcode through the Clients Control Panel DNS/IP field. The add-client handler copies an oversized DNS/IP value without a bounds check, overwriting the structured exception handler and redirecting execution through an egghunter payload. Exploitation requires the Windows application to process the crafted value when a client is added, after which code runs with the application's privileges.
