Cross-site scripting via unescaped transformed text
Published Sep 8, 2025 · Updated Sep 8, 2025
Cross-site scripting in ApostropheCMS sanitize-html before 2.0.0-beta allows remote attackers to execute script via crafted HTML. The sanitizeHtml() path in index.js inserts transformTags-provided attribute values into frame.innerText without HTML escaping, so markup becomes executable output. Exploitation requires an application to use the custom transformTags option to turn attacker-controlled attributes into text and a user to render the sanitized result, exposing browser-accessible data or actions.
