Script injection via unescaped configuration search
Published Dec 27, 2022 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Oxidized Web 0.13.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject script through configuration search. The conf_search.haml template renders the to_research value directly inside a span without HTML escaping. A low-privileged user must submit a crafted search and another user must view the response, allowing script execution in that viewer's browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
