Unauthenticated command execution via crafted ping request
Published Jun 9, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
OS command injection in OpenNetAdmin 18.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through the unauthenticated login endpoint. The window_submit XAJAX handler passes the ip value from xajaxargs[] to the ping workflow without neutralizing shell metacharacters. No credentials or user interaction are required, and injected commands run with the web server process's privileges on the Linux host.
