Data integrity violation via attacker-controlled CustomSerializer
Published Feb 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Data-integrity failure in R3 Corda before 4.1 allows remote attackers to alter serialized data semantics through a crafted CustomSerializer. The CustomSerializer processing path reconstructs received data with attacker-selected semantics; public sources disclose no narrower function or missing validation. Exploitation requires serialized input to reach that serializer, and the published impact is limited to modifying data meaning.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
