Memory disclosure and crash via ASN.1 printing
Published Jul 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in LibreSSL 2.9.1 through 3.2.1 allows attackers to expose memory or crash a process during ASN.1 printing. Recursive calls between asn1_item_print_ctx and asn1_template_print_ctx read beyond the bounds of an ASN.1 value while rendering it. Public sources do not identify the defective template field; triggering the flaw requires an application to print attacker-influenced ASN.1 data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
