Unauthenticated command execution via post_service metacharacters
Published Feb 19, 2021 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
OS command injection in OpenRepeater before 2.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through the post_service parameter. The unauthenticated functions/ajax_system.php endpoint accepts shell metacharacters in post_service and passes the resulting value to command execution. Network access to the web interface is sufficient; injected commands can read the application database and perform other actions with the web application's privileges.
