Protected-region modification via alternate boot interfaces

Improper access control in Qualcomm Snapdragon MDM9205 and ten other chipsets allows local users to modify locked boot-image regions. The secure boot loader leaves alternate interfaces able to write locked regions, so the lock is not enforced across every modification path. Local low-privileged access is required; affected models are MDM9205, QCS404, QCS605, SDA845, SDM670, SDM710, SDM845, SDM850, SM8150, SXR1130 and SXR2130, and successful writes compromise boot-image integrity.
