Stored XSS via nonce-free CSV import
Published Jun 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in WooCommerce before 3.6.5 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through forged CSV imports. The product CSV controller verifies a nonce only during upload, then processes unprotected mapping and import steps that store malicious HTML in product descriptions. Exploitation requires an Author-or-higher account and a logged-in administrator to visit an attacker-controlled page; the script executes when the affected product is viewed.
