URL spoofing via IDN homograph mishandling
Published Jun 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
IDN homograph mishandling in Foxit PhantomPDF before 8.3.10 allows remote attackers to open a deceptive address through a crafted link. PhantomPDF's link handling presents an internationalized domain name as a trusted-looking homograph, then opens the attacker-selected address. Exploitation requires the recipient to click the fake link; published evidence supports link-target deception rather than code execution or data disclosure.
