Application crash via recursive color-space references
Published Jun 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Stack overflow in Foxit PhantomPDF Mac and Foxit Reader Mac 3.2.0.0404 and earlier allows attackers to crash the application via a crafted PDF. The PDF color-space parser recursively follows a mutually referencing ICCBased color space and Alternate color space until the call stack is exhausted. Processing the malicious document is required, and the documented consequence is an application crash with no stated code execution.
