Administrator session compromise via unencoded category ID
Published May 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Reflected XSS in Gila CMS before 1.11.6 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser via a crafted link. The post-category edit form passes the id query parameter to g_preview_theme without encoding double quotes before placing it in HTML. An administrator must follow the link; injected script runs in the CMS origin and exposes data and actions available to that browser session.
