Stored script execution via unescaped title fields
Published Apr 26, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Croogo before 3.0.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through crafted menu or vocabulary titles. The administrative menu and taxonomy vocabulary views store title values and later place them into generated HTML without neutralizing script-capable markup. High-privilege access is required to submit a title, and execution requires another user to view the affected administrative page; successful exploitation can read or alter data available to that user’s browser session.
