Trusted-application crash via unchecked HLOS offsets
Published Apr 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Buffer over-read in the dxhdcp2 trustlet on LG Android 7.0 through 8.1 devices allows local users to crash the trusted application. The trustlet fails to validate data offsets supplied by the high-level operating system before reading memory outside the intended bounds. Local access capable of supplying crafted HLOS input is required, and the documented consequence is limited to crashing the trusted application.
