Local shell command execution via connectivity service
Published Apr 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Command execution in the connectivity service on LG mobile devices running Android 7.0 through 9.0 allows local users to run shell commands. LG has not published the faulty operation that lets an unprivileged application invoke shell commands through the connectivity service. A malicious unprivileged application must already be installed and run locally; successful exploitation provides shell-command execution on the device.
