Browser data access and modification via stored scripts
Published Apr 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Stored XSS in affected NETGEAR router, gateway, and WiFi-system firmware allows attackers to read or alter browser data. NETGEAR has not published the input field, storage locus, rendering path, or missing output-neutralization operation that causes the script to persist. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access and user interaction, and successful script execution is confined to the affected web interface.
