XXE in AutoUpdater.NET before 1.5.8 allows attackers to read local files through a malicious AppCast XML document. AutoUpdater.cs loads the downloaded AppCast stream into an XmlDocument without disabling its XmlResolver, so external DTD entities resolve local files or attacker-controlled URLs. Exploitation requires control of the configured update XML or a man-in-the-middle position; demonstrated effects include file exfiltration and outbound requests.
