Remote service interruption via TCP SYN packets
Published Mar 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Denial of service in Samsung mobile Wi-Fi on Android 7.x and 8.x allows remote attackers to interrupt service via crafted TCP SYN packets. Public records identify Broadcom and Samsung Wi-Fi chipsets as affected but do not disclose the packet-processing locus or erroneous operation applied to SYN traffic. Exploitation requires network access to the device and causes an availability-only interruption; no data access or modification is reported.
