Arbitrary code execution via Keymaster heap overflow
Published Mar 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Heap overflow in the Keymaster Trustlet on Samsung mobile devices running Android 7.x through 9.0 allows remote attackers to execute code. The Trustlet writes beyond a heap buffer into Trusted Execution Environment memory; Samsung has not published the triggering input or flawed operation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary code within the device's trusted environment.
