Heap out-of-bounds read via Bluetooth LE packets
Published Mar 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Broadcom Bluetooth on Samsung Android 7.x through 9.0 devices allows attackers to access heap memory via LE packets. The LE packet receive path performs an out-of-bounds heap read during packet processing; Samsung has not published the responsible function or field. The affected device must use a Broadcom chipset and have Bluetooth LE reception exposed; public records do not establish code execution or service interruption.
