Arbitrary code execution via SEM Trustlet memory overwrite
Published Mar 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Memory corruption in the SEM Trustlet on Samsung Android 9 devices allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through malicious input. The trustlet performs an arbitrary memory overwrite, but Samsung has not disclosed the triggering input or faulty memory operation. Exposure is limited to Samsung mobile devices with TEEGRIS or Qualcomm chipsets, where successful exploitation executes attacker-controlled code.
