Browser script execution via reflected serverURL
Published Mar 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Reflected XSS in Ignite Realtime Openfire 4.4.1 allows remote attackers to inject script through the setup datasource page. The setup/setup-datasource-standard.jsp handler reflects the POST serverURL parameter into HTML without neutralizing an injected event handler. Exploitation is unauthenticated but requires a user to interact with the crafted page, allowing script execution in that user's browser context.
