Reflected XSS via unescaped datasource driver
Published Mar 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Reflected XSS in Ignite Realtime Openfire 4.4.1 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser via a crafted POST. The setup/setup-datasource-standard.jsp page reflects the driver parameter into an HTML attribute without neutralizing quotation marks or event-handler markup. Exploitation requires user interaction with the reflected response; executed script can read or alter data available to that browser session.
