CVE-2019-20492Network attack vector

Authenticated access bypass via password-file misparsing

Published Mar 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Authentication bypass in cPanel before 82.0.18 allows remote authenticated users to gain unauthorized access through password-file parsing. The authentication path misparses the password file's record format, but public sources do not identify the parser, accepted malformed structure, or affected login endpoint. Low-privileged credentials and network reachability are required; successful bypass grants unauthorized access, while the precise post-bypass privileges remain undisclosed.
