CVE-2019-20481Network attack vector

Administrator takeover via unchecked password change

Published Feb 24, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Improper authorization in the Miele XGW 3000 ZigBee Gateway before 2.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to change the admin password. The Password Change Function accepts a new administrator password without checking the current password. Exploitation requires the separate CSRF flaw and an authenticated administrator to visit malicious web content, after which attackers can bypass gateway authentication.
