Remote code execution via replaceable restart files
Published Feb 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Remote code execution in Prismview System 9 11.10.17.00 and Prismview Player 11 13.09.1100 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The HTTP API accepts uploads that can overwrite RebootSystem.lnk or a WinVNC executable, then launches the replaced file through /REBOOTSYSTEM or /RESTARTVNC. Authentication is required, but directory traversal can disclose the XML configuration file containing the needed username and password.
