CVE-2019-20443Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unneutralized mediaType metadata

Published Jan 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Stored XSS in registry UIs of affected WSO2 server products allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted mediaType value. The resource metadata editor stores the mediaType value without neutralizing executable markup, which runs when another user views the affected page in API Manager 2.6.0, Enterprise Integrator 6.5.0, IS as Key Manager 5.7.0, or Identity Server 5.8.0. An authenticated user must create or edit a registry resource and a victim must load its page; script can alter the UI, redirect the browser, or read browser data, but httpOnly cookies prevent session-cookie theft.
