CVE-2019-20440Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated script execution via reflected document fields

Published Jan 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Reflected XSS in WSO2 API Manager 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser via API document updates. The API Publisher reflects crafted docName, version, and apiName values from an update request into its browser response without neutralizing script markup. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to update an existing API document and user interaction; scripts can alter the page, read browser-accessible data, or redirect the victim, while HttpOnly cookies prevent session-cookie theft.
