Authenticated script execution via unsanitized scope roles
Published Jan 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Reflected XSS in WSO2 API Manager 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted API scope role. The API Publisher reflects the roles value supplied while defining an API scope into the manage-API page without neutralizing an HTML event-handler payload. High-privilege Publisher access and victim interaction are required; script can alter the page, redirect the browser, or read browser data, but protected session cookies prevent session hijacking.
