Authenticated script injection through Issue Navigator search

Cross-site scripting in Atlassian Jira Server before 7.13.9 and 8.0.0 through 8.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to inject HTML or JavaScript. The flaw resides in Issue Navigator Basic Search, but Atlassian has not published the affected parameter or the exact failed neutralization operation. Exploitation requires low-privileged access and another user's interaction, after which injected code runs in that user's browser with access to the Jira session.
