Unauthenticated project-key enumeration via validation API oracle
Published Feb 6, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Information disclosure in Atlassian Jira Server before 8.6.0 allows remote attackers to determine whether a project key exists. The Jira Importers Plugin API exposes a project-key validation result to unauthenticated requests, creating an existence oracle. Network access to the API is sufficient to enumerate valid project keys, but the disclosed information is limited to whether a tested key exists.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
