Browser script execution via unencoded language setting
Published May 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Reflected XSS in Subrion CMS 4.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript in a user's browser via a crafted setting. The general configuration page reflects the multipart v[language_switch] parameter into its response without context-appropriate output encoding. Exploitation requires a user to load the crafted response, allowing script execution in the Subrion origin within that user's browser session.
