Script execution via unescaped localization value
Published Jan 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Electronic Logbook (ELOG) 3.1.4 allows remote attackers to inject browser-executed script via a loc value. The localization path in elogd.c places the attacker-controlled value parameter into generated HTML without neutralizing markup. A user must open the resulting content; the injected script then runs in that user's browser context and can read or alter data available to the page.
