Administrator browser script execution via unescaped alias
Published Jan 8, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Ignite Realtime Openfire 4.4.4 allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser via a crafted alias. The Manage Store Contents form writes the alias request parameter directly into an HTML input value without output encoding. Exploitation requires an administrator to open the crafted console request, after which the script runs with that administrator's browser privileges.
